What is a KOT?
A Kitchen Order Ticket is the slip that tells the kitchen what to cook: the table, the dishes, the quantities and any special instructions. In ScanYourOrder the KOT is created from the order itself, so nobody rewrites it by hand and nothing is missed.
KOTs that print themselves
Turn on KOT printing and a ticket prints automatically whenever you accept an order, on the default printer of that device. Tickets are numbered, and the counter can restart every day.

Open the Kitchen Display on a tablet, a spare phone or a wall-mounted monitor. Orders appear as soon as they are accepted, and the kitchen marks each one prepared with a tap. The guest’s phone and the front counter update at the same moment.

What is the difference between a KOT and a KDS?
A KOT is a printed ticket for the kitchen. A KDS, or Kitchen Display System, shows the same orders on a screen and lets the kitchen mark them prepared. ScanYourOrder supports both, and you can use them together.
Which printer do I need for KOT printing?
A 58 mm or 80 mm thermal printer set as the default printer on the device that accepts orders. You can also run the kitchen from the on-screen Kitchen Display with no printer at all.
